Operating across both seeds and crop protection, Syngenta also supports producers through its Cropwise™ platform, an integrated digital system that enables producers to record, manage, and analyze on-farm data, including pesticide and fertilizer applications, costs, and resource inputs. The platform includes Cropwise™ Sustainability -a free self-assessment tool that helps producers calculate a farm-level sustainability score, identify opportunities for improvement, and benchmark their performance against peers.
How IFA and Cropwise Sustainability work together
A data-driven approach will play a key role in supporting sustainability efforts. Through Cropwise™ Sustainability, producers can track metrics such as nutrient use, energy consumption, and land allocated to biodiversity, generating insights into their environmental footprint. A comparison of the tool’s data outputs with the requirements of the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard confirmed a high degree of alignment.
This alignment can help reduce duplication for producers interested in using both. By recording environmental data through Cropwise Sustainability, producers may already have much of the information needed to demonstrate compliance with key requirements during an IFA audit. This will create a streamlined pathway toward audit readiness, reducing administrative burden, and simplifying documentation.
