A year with renewed purpose: 2025 Annual Report now published

5 min read

2025 was a transformative year for our organization, and one which reminds us why this work matters. Deliberate and demanding, the year was full of progress that moved things forward in meaningful ways for producers, supply chains, and partners across the globe.

This Annual Report is not a scorecard, but a shared story. A look at what we built together, what we learned, and what we are carrying into the year ahead.

A new name, a clearer purpose

On 30 June 2025, FoodPLUS GmbH officially became Agraya GmbH, and with that transition came more than a new name.

GLOBALG.A.P. and the GGN label did not change when Agraya came to life. They are still doing what they’ve always done – providing robust certification solutions, building trust across value chains, and strengthening the link between responsible farming and the consumer. What Agraya brings is a shared home for both, with a sharper sense of direction: A clearer picture of where we go next, and why we need to go there together.

The ideas harness the expertise we have developed over the past 25 years and aim to support the evolution of agriculture by creating systems that work for everyone. Farming should work for farmers. Not just technically or economically, but in a way that gives producers a genuine voice in the decisions that shape their lives and their land.

“We’re not just changing names, we’re stepping into a future with sharper purpose, stronger alignment, and a renewed commitment to the people and systems that make agriculture work,” stated Elmé Coetzer-Boersma, CEO of Agraya GmbH.

What shaped the year

ESS: The first real-world test

The Environmental Sustainability Solution (ESS) was developed with one clear intention: to give producers and supply chains a meaningful and practical way to demonstrate environmental progress, not just compliance.

In 2025, that intention met reality. Between April and July, desk trials were conducted across 15 countries, evaluating how the ESS performs across diverse farm contexts, climates, and agricultural practices. The trials were not just about validating metrics, but about paying close attention to producers, to how data is collected in the field, and what insights are actionable.

From there, the conversation widened. Retailers and supply chain partners brought their perspective to the table through the regular ESS Working Group meetings. The result is a solution that is genuinely co-designed and shaped by the people who will use it, supporting more efficient decision-making at all levels of global supply chains.

GLOBALG.A.P. IT platform: New digital infrastructure goes live

After many months of development in partnership with osapiens, the new GLOBALG.A.P. IT platform officially launched on 3 November 2025, replacing the legacy database with two new interconnected systems.

CertifierOS is the hub for certification bodies, connecting end-to-end auditing and certification activities. Supply Chain Portal is the public-facing source of validated certification data for retailers, traders, and buyers. The launch required many months of coordination across our global network, and our ongoing continuous improvement of the platform is a testament to the collective effort of all parties.

GGN label: Growing consumer confidence

The GGN label continues to grow as a trusted consumer mark, connecting certified, responsible farming to conscious consumers who want to know more about the roots of their food. The label saw a 63% increase in products year-on-year, with a 9.5% rise in number of GGN licenses.

Capacity-building projects: Where standards meet new fields

In 2025, capacity-building efforts reached producers and farming communities in Brazil, India, and Peru – each with a different agricultural landscape, each with its own pressures, and each a reminder of the importance of connecting with producers on the ground.

Capacity-building training means meeting producers where they are – in their language, in their context, with the realities of their farms taken seriously. It means building local knowledge and expertise that stays with the farming community long after the workshops end.
