Connecting with the seafood sector at Fish International 2026

2 min read

Fish International 2026, held alongside the 7th GASTRO IVENT in Bremen, brought together key players across the seafood and foodservice sectors. With over 12,000 participants, the event reaffirmed its role as a central meeting point for the sector in Germany.

For Agraya, the fair provided valuable opportunities to engage with a wide range of stakeholders across the seafood value chain. As Germany’s only dedicated seafood trade fair, Fish International remains a key platform for connecting with major suppliers, brands, retailers, producers, traders, and certification bodies.

Speaking on the growing international presence of the event, Valeska Weymann, Senior Technical Expert at Agraya, highlighted, “Aquaculture continues to play an increasingly dominant role, with farmed salmon leading the market. Major producing countries such as Norway, Scotland, Chile, Denmark, and the Faroe Islands were strongly represented, many with significant volumes of GLOBALG.A.P. certified supply.”

Agraya’s presence at the fair enabled buyers and partners to learn more about GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated farm assurance for aquaculture and the GGN label, which represents the entire value chain verification, from hatchery to market. It also provided an opportunity to connect with new stakeholders interested in certification, underlining the continued relevance of supply chain verification.

Throughout the event, discussions covered a broad range of topics, from sustainability and animal welfare to social and environmental requirements, as well as market demand and certification developments. These conversations reflect the increasing expectations placed on the seafood sector and the importance of credible, scalable assurance solutions.

Commenting on the event, Remko Oosterveld, Business Development Manager Aquaculture at Agraya, said, “Attending Fish International has been a very valuable experience. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with stakeholders and gain new insights into the sector. The strong level of engagement and continued demand for GLOBALG.A.P. solutions and the GGN label once again highlighted the importance of this event for the industry.”

We look forward to continuing these conversations at upcoming events. Join us next at Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona from 21 to 23 April 2026.
